I've not seen a top loader without an agitator. I'm thinking you're comparing the top and front loader. Once you purchase a machine you can have repairs done by any serviceman. Thus you don't have to deal with the customer service department unless your machine is faulty. The possibility of that happening is slim.

What a disappointment! The verdict is still out for the Maytag washer, but thus far there have been no issues. It is an "old fashioned" agitator washer that combines old technology with new. Overall reviews, non Best Buy, were good for this washing machine.
Since I have a front load washing machine, there isn't an agitator. I'd either have diapers that weren't fully clean, or I'd get SUDS errors on my machine and I'd be washing soap out for ages. I've done 3 loads now with the washing balls and my diapers are perfectly clean, I'm not getting SUDS errors, and there's no soap residue on the diapers.
